The thing that I am having a hard time deciding is how much do you tell Brooklyn and when is the best time. She is going to have to be told that her heart has to be fixed again. Lindsay has already started to talk with her about that. But she is going to go into surgery with people she just met and go to sleep. I know the nurses there are amazing but they are not mom and dad. Then when she wakes up she is going to have a large incision on her chest and tubes in and around her. And you can't forget about all the beeping of the machines. She is going to be achy and be forced to cough to prevent pneumonia which will hurt. I just can't wrap my head around this it would be scary for an adult let alone a 6 year old. I was once told that the hardest part of situations like this is to understand that you don't have control and that you need to focus on the things you can control. I guess I am not at that point yet.
The video below is one that I absolutely love. It is by soulpancake who's creator is Rainn Wilson from the show The Office. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
